Rochdale's Community Led Consortium
An Alliance of the Willing - is our chosen motto for Phase Two in 2026 where we welcomed new members and collaborations across the Rochdale Borough. We're delighted to now start announcing our newest members, in February 2026 we welcomed:
In January 2026 we opened up memberships from grassroots organisations to join the consortium and we had a blast visiting and having initial conversations - it was all incredibly motivating and inspiring!
The Consortium is a collective of vibrant community-based organisations across Rochdale, working together to drive system change, support grassroots organisations by sharing best practice, assets and setting standards in areas like impact measurement, and uplift one another through collaborative projects. We’d love to have a chat with you to hear about your organisation and your work, share more about the Consortium, and explore whether membership might be something you're interested in.
We're small but packing some mighty impact stats within our first 12 months!
We are delighted to share some key points of development with you all...
We had a great time on the podcast style online discussion - in depth blog post and further discussions following on from the event can be found here: https://www.civilsocietytogether.org/newsblog/systems-change-in-practice-i-what-funders-look-for-and-why-you-might-be-doing-more-systems-change-than-you-think
Here's a snapshot of where the journey to create something new, really began to take shape in 2024 with thanks to foundational funding from The National Lottery Reaching Communities fund:

We have been formed from a collection of eight vibrant and dedicated community hubs, working towards our vision...
"To make a lasting difference by supportive collaboration; we're sharing learning and resources to have a wider reach and impact, and give a stronger voice to the communities we serve across Rochdale."
Together, we are there to help build sector resilience, creative collaborations and new ways pathways to share knowledge, capacity and scope. Our growing collective serves the diverse communities of the Rochdale borough, currently working across the townships of Middleton, Rochdale South and Rochdale North.

We are in our first year together and have lots of exciting pilot ventures underway, especially around strategic breadth which is anchored by place-based lived-experience, to enrich shared-knowledge and reciprocal learning.
On an operational level we've been working hard to collate members current impact, to better understand areas of strength, experience and expertise. With the new collaborative database being rolled out this coming September 2025, this deeper understanding of our work will refine and inform future community development. We're also busy developing our infrastructure to nurture potential joint projects, system change events, and implementing shared service delivery and volunteer sharing. |
