| Burnside Youth
& Community Centre is situated in Langley
Estate. Burnside Centre was established to provide
support and guidance to the local community,
and that is what it continues to do to the present
day.
The Centre caters for everyone in the community,
from 0 - to the elderly, it believes in helping
everyone and excluding no one.
There are various youth clubs ran every week
and a Holy Communion held every week for the
elderly and also a weekly bingo night, which
is run by an association that caters for the
elderly of Langley through TADRA Social.
It is the Centre’s wish to stop the cycle
of negative attributes being put on the residence
of Langley, especially the youth, and offer
them guidance, support and pride in where they
live and in whom they are and where they are
going in life.
Youth clubs and project work are run at the
Centre on a weekly basis.

Social events are also held at the Centre, which
encourages peoples’ perceptions of the Centre
being there for the whole community.
Day trips, projects and educational projects such
as anti-racism awareness, play a big part in achieving
local cohesiveness between ages, race, religion
and gender.
The Centre has a Declaration
of Trust and has an active Management Committee.
The Centre has had charity status since 1996.
All staff working with children and young people
have enhanced C.R.B checks. |
